Strange wifi issue with S7

[link to this post]

So recently got a new Galaxy S7. Ive noticed in the few months ive had it, sometimes when i come home from work it refuses to connect to wifi. Will say "connecting.."." or "authenticating..." and nothing happens, eventually it will say incorrect password. If i reboot the router (Netgear DG834Gv5) it connects fine again. I thought this was just my router playing up, until its happened a couple of other times, and ive noticed a pattern

Basically if my router loses sync for whatever reason and reconnects, the next time my phone is in range of the router it wont connect. However this doesnt happen if my phone is in range during the disconnect, or if i disable wifi and reanable it again. In these circumstances it connects fine. Its when i leave the house and the range of the router, and come back home that it fails to connect. All always after a recent loss of sync of my connection. All always fixed by a reboot of the router. Rebooting phone etc does nothing.

So why would my phone refuse to connect the first time after a resync? Never happened on my S5 and any other wifi device in the house

Try briefly switching on, then off airplane mode on the phone .....

This seems to force a refresh of wifi connections.

Why is the router loosing sync anyway ?

Wii try next time but wouldn't turning wifi on and off on the phone do the same job? Also rebooting phone didn't help.

Ive always had intermittent issues on this line. Replaced all internal cables with twisted pair cat5 years ago and its got the line to a decent stability. I may loose sync and a quick reconnect every 10-30 days on average so its never been an issue thats worth looking into. A few seconds downtime every few week is liveable

Yes, maybe .... its just what works best/least hassle with the work iPhones .

OK, had thought from your original post that the loss of sync was more often.

It used to be until i improved the internal wiring. Im not sure what is classed as a stable line, always assumed some loss of sync was inevitable given the nature of adsl?

As for the phone issue im the only one in the house on Android so hard to tell if its a phone issue or what. No other device (iphones etc) do this. Whether its just the phone wifi chipset isnt fully compatible with an old router im not sure? Just doesnt make sense why it connects fine for weeks, all until a loss of sync event on the router

It used to be stable until you improved the internal wiring ?

Then clearly youve done something wrong...

ADSL should stay up for ages, should only drop sync if you instigate it.*

What i meant is i used to get disconnects every few hours as was using cheap extension cables. Replaced those with cat5 twisted pair phone extension cable many years ago and got a much stable line now as i mentioned previously.

Im sure if i got rid of the internal extension cables i could get it abit more stable but as i said, the odd disconnect every few week isnt major and mlre hassle to fix it than to just live with it

I think you may have misunderstood the response. I think it goes like this:
