Don't forget you are using a router that is approaching 10 years old. Have you tried another? Wi-fi has moved on in the past ten years.

Dont have a spare unfortunately. I get that its old but i thought all wifi was a set standard, and no other device has issues

Unfortunately, or rather I feel fortunately, Wi-Fi is far from all the same, a, b, g, n, ac, etc. The DG834 is limited to I think just 802.11 b & g whereas your S7 supports 802.11 a, ac, b, g & n.

However I don't think that you are alone in having wi-fi problems with your S7, many others have reported similar problems to yourself.

Do you have any links to people with similar problems? I did Google it but it seems most have issues with the S7 outright refusing to connect to wifi, rather than intermittent like mine

Whenever I have experienced a device not accepting the correct password I have found changing the wireless channel on the router solves it. Do you have a lot of neighbouring wifi congestion?

Nope. My phone is picking up 1 other network and thats only in certain areas of the house so must be pretty weak signal. Where i live is a quiet street with some elderly people on it so very few have the internet/wifi that i can pick up

Noticed earlier that my wifi network only has WPA encryption (instead of WPA2). Ive changed the encryption to WPA2 see if this helps bit wont know until a disconnect happens

Wonder if that could have been the issue?
