bbc pings

[link to this post]

hope its nothing at my end but seemingly pings to the bbc.com site have gone from about 11-12ms to about 360ms,is it anything to do with the launch of their new app to listen to any and every radio station?too much usage not enough bandwidth?

Depends on where the location being pinged actually is, i.e. load may DNS resolving to a node that is some way away

Nothing unusual here regarding pings, the connection is ADSL1 so the average time is around 46ms at the moment.

Try this, which might show you where the bottleneck is:-

tracert bbc.com

Also, what do you get if you use the "-4" parameter as in my second one earlier. So:- ping bbc.com -4

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 01/10/18 - 71908/13506Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

Here is my ping, I had to force it to use IPv4 due to my Security Suit blocks IPv6 ICMP and I cannot be bother to unblock it.

*** Ping ***
ping -4 bbc.com

Yeah I have to do IPv4 checks myself due to my security suit blocks IPv6 ICMP pings.
