Bandwidth control has no rules on the tp link. I will have to read up on half duplex. No idea what that is. If i swap the tp link and asus around the problem no longer occurs. I originally thought it was a faulty ethernet cable but i have a few 10m ones, all do the same.

Tried Router.asus.com and 192.168.1.1 (Kept it at that after a router reset)
Tp link is now 192.168.2.1

The TP Link needs to be the default gateway for everything - the Asus is now on a different subnet - so you can't access it.

TP Link needs to be 192.168.x.1
Asus needs to be 192.168.x.2

x must be the same in both cases - doesnt matter if it is 1, or 100

Thanks for the info. That's another problem sorted.

Upon further reading of half duplex, that does sounds like the problem. It's either a problem between the 2 routers or a wiring issue?

Oh and traffic management is off completely in the Asus router.

Just a thought (I am a bit rusty on networking these days) but what is the MTU on the TPLink and the Asus ?

They are now both 1500. I thought that was the problem as both were different but didn't notice any change.

Tp link:1500 default
Asus: 1492 default Changed Asus to 1500

1492 might be better on a lot of ISPs.

But just be careful you aren't re-sync'ing too often. If you upset DLM it can be a pig to fix. (He's on 4G!)

Oh i wouldn't bother with all this if this was fixed line. I know i'd upset DLM otherwise But i will change them both to 1492 just in case Three's network are funny like that.
