Broadband dropping out regularly

[link to this post]

At the end of July, my BT broadband connection started dropping out constantly at night, usually from about 7- 9pm. It's very intermittent - sometimes it happens during the day a couple of time but nearly always at night.

My smarthub will start flashing pink, then orange and then back to blue.

Once it starts it'll continue to do it for hours - making the connection virtually unusable.

Openreach have visited many times. On most occasions they've found faults on the line and "fixed" them. Now they're saying the line is absolutely fine. It's a long line, about 3 miles from the exchange and I typically get about 3Mbps, which is fine if it's stable.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with a connection dropping out at certain times of the day?

You could well be looking at an external noise source casuing the problem. It might be in yourr house, next door, or even somewhere back down the road.

Heating systems, frdges, TVs - either from new or whenn they develop a fault. Maybe a generator in a workshop/yard that sits very close to the line ...

I agree with MHCs points.

If the timings you mention are right, could it coincide with a telly going on in a kids bedroom upstairs, or similar ?

Youll need to look at your routers stats too, and learn to interpret them, this can often help.
