R100 questions

[link to this post]

Had a BT guy round the other day looking for a signature to agree to any necessary work on my property to supply a Fibre connection.

Must admit that I am amazed that they are looking at doing this! There can't be much more than 10 properties up this road (rural SW Scotland). Villages either side of us have Firbe. But the road we are on is stuck out on a limb (road is several Km long). Surely this must be going to cost them a fortune?

The guy seemed to think they would be able to re-use a lot of the old underground ducting in the roadside. Well this has probably been there since Mr Bell invented the telephone. Good luck there I would have thought.

After a quick GOOGLE, I found this:

"A new superfast connection is being built in your area. It's part of the Scottish Government’s broadband improvement scheme.

Your connection will be delivered after the end of 2021. Based on the current engineering schedule your address is in scope to receive its superfast connection in the second half of 2022."

Just wondering if anyone has any idea how accurate, or likely the above is???

Be great if we can get a decent Fibre connection. Just thought I would be long dead before this would happen.

Happy days?

PS. Wonder if this would be FTTP?
