Thank you John, but I know nothing about programming so Github's article might as well be written in Martian translated from Klingon.

Even this non-techie can understand this definition. I was beginning to realise this was happening over the past couple of years.

Vivaldi seems fine so far, ruled out Chrome after reading about Google tracking/spying.

Just remember that all the browsers that are not Firefox or Apple Safari (only Mac or iOS) is using the Chromium project's output, the HTML engine (Blink) and Javascript engine (V8).

Google Chrome, Vivaldi, Opera, Brave, MS Edge and others all use the Chromium project and then build their own stuff on top.
