I decided to get aVPN, so I have gone for NORD, but I am surprised at home much it can slow things down, I thought NORD was one of the better ones. I got an offer from work for it, and i have been thinking of getting one for a while,
A bit of a pain to set up.

I have Norton 360 hanging around on a couple of devices. Its included VPN only single streams so I ditched it. I only tried it out of interest, not specific needs.
Is NORD doing the same? Even loading a BBC page on single stream was a PITA.
Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro on Three 4+ (LTE)/5G and at home Three Mobile, with (Three)ZTE MF286D router giving about 113/20Mbps.

Been a long time since I was on Windows, but your issue might be OpenVPN rather than Nord itself. Check in your settings if you have the option to switch to Wireguard (Nord call it "Nordlynx" in their literature so check for that too).

Agreed, if OpenVPN in TCP mode it is easy to get through firewalls but can be a pain for multi streams. Wireguard is automatic using the Nord application though.

It is fine now, maybe it was sorting itself out on my computer, even changing to a server in another country it is pretty rapid.
Thanks for the reply.

open VPN is a free VPN service, not sure what Nord have to do with that, working fine now anyway, but thanks for the reply.
i thought with all that is going on, maybe it would be nice to have a bit more protection, £74 for 2 years, that is ok.

I recently joined NordVPN and at first the speeds were impressive over their own NordLynx protocol. Soon enough the speeds dropped by over 50% and connection started to lag. Contacted Nord support and was advised to try IKEv2 protocol. Speeds and response times are great again. Give IKEv2 a try.
