That is a speed test, and if it is giving you speeds higher than your actual connection it usually means there is some incompatible software on your computer. (often third party security software).

You can check your router web pages to see the actual "sync speed" that you are connected at over the wires.

Whilst these may be limited by the profile that BT Retail has purchased from the wholesale/network division, if a speed test shows faster than these, you know it is broken.
