NO-IP.com

Anyone get anything other than "bad gateway" 502 from No-ip.com. Trying to renew my domain but it's not playing ball.

Thanks, seems to be working now albeit with internal site errors.

Probably best to move your domain registration to a competent provider then, and this would be a good time to do it (before paying for your renewal).

I've always found gandi.net to be rock solid.

There seems to be a bit confusion its not a domain as such its dynamic ip translation for use with the TBB ip monitor. Also its free and plays nicely with my Asus router. smile

Good thing about Asus routers is the number of DDNS providers they support. I've moved to Afraid.org after issues with NoIP and the ASUS own one causing strange oddities on the BQM. Afraid.org needs donations however.

I used to use no-ip for years but it became unreliable and their domain charges are high if you ever do want your own domain

cloudflare offer a load of free services, including dynamic dns, and their domain costs are wholesale prices so really cheap. Their website is also significantly more user friendly (and powerful!) than no-ips.

Price and UI doesn't matter if its not on the list of DDNS providers in the router list.

They're pretty commonly on a lot of things these days. Won't be on older stuff though, sure. But there are plenty of other options, don't always need your router to handle that (NAS, desktop, pi etc all have clients)
