Morrisons Data - FTTP install

[link to this post]

Hello,

A few months ago Morrisons data were on my premises installing/upgrading the existing phoneline to FTTP equipment. All of the posts in my area now have white boxes fitted. I asked the Morrison engineer who said the local program was almost finished and we should have access to FTTP services very soon. Does anyone know how long this should take? I have spoke to Openreach who say there is no date as of yet. Just seems strange to me that all the cabling is there but the service is not available.

Thanks in advance.

The cable to your house is just one small part of the jigsaw. There are a number of connections up stream of this that have to be done as well. It could be they are still working on those. General experience on this forum is that it can take anywhere from days to years to get from being cabled to a service being available to buy (although generally it will be weeks or a few months).

What sort of property is it ?, what company was the Morrisons tech working on behalf of ?,
Unless you are part of a MDU ( multiple dwellings unit ) , what you describe doesn’t seem to fit in with an Openreach upgrade to FTTP , with these there is no work done on the consumers ( or potential consumers ) property during the build phase , any work on customers property is only if/when an order is raised for that property, and an order cannot be raised until availability is confirmed, also Openreach FTTP external equipment is not white in colour, it’s black.
Are you sure this work was on behalf of Openreach, if it’s wasn’t then obviously there is no point asking Openreach about it .
