All has been restored. Does this happen often?

Was it only 1.1.1.1 you saw with high latency, or other destinations too?

The Internet is made up of thousands of independently-run, interconnected networks. Routing/peering issues between those do happen from time to time. However, Cloudflare is one of the best run.

Every site was sluggish to load, pings to normal places (bbc google etc) were fine.

Only thing issue I found was with 1.1.1.1 itself.

How did you test this?

Did you change your DNS on your router away from 1.1.1.1? Or did you check some other way?

Is it resolved?

You do realise this thread is a year old…

There are some current cloudfare, BT/Plusnet peering issues the last 24 hours or so though.
