I set up the monitor and it looked like it pulled in the IPV6 address automatically however the graph doesnt shpw anything yet?
Ok cancel that as i was thinking it would start on the left!
So, can i also set up an ipv4 monotor as well? If so, what IP address should i use?

The address we show you is the IP address you're connecting to us from. This is going to be thats of your computer. If you're on wi-fi this will vary a lot potentially, and if your computer goes to sleep it will show red probably. You need to get the address from your router. It will end in "::", "::0" or "::1" usually.. but not four random characters. Currently you're monitoring the latter which is almost certainly your computer.

Look for an IP that begins 2a02 or 2a04 type thing on your router's configuration page.

Thanks.

I have tried to set up an IPV4 as well, but it just keeps telling me the IP address is invalid and trying to force me to set up another ipv6.

I checked my laptop `IPV4 and it is 100% correct.

That needs to be the router external IPv4 address as well, but if it is not a static address it can change also cease to work. There are ways around that but I'll leave that to others if it does keep changing.

My guess is you are trying to use the "local" IP address (probably starting 192.168). If so this is only accessible on your internal network and not valid for public access.

Sorry guys, i forgot to update!

I did eventually suss out it's the IP from the ISP i needed to use and got that all up and running.

Plus, I also found the issues were being caused by a bad IPV6 route/connection which for some reason was also having an effect on my IPV4 connection as well?

Once i disabled and re-enabled it, it has improved overall, but i am still getting some regular IPV6 latency spikes.

Just shows a broken image link for me.

In developer console,
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/...
is giving 404 Not Found.

I'm seeing that too.
Did you delete the BQM?

Hi guys,

Just trying to diagnose internet issues so thought i would quickly run one from the ISP router with 10 hops, to the ISP website.

All hops were populated except for hop 3,4 & 10.

The result did come back as failed.

Would this give connection issues and a general buggy feel to the connection?

We have a new 1Gig connection and it is pretty poor with response times as well, pages struggling to load etc, but most of the time its what i would class as 'working'.

Heya,

A problematic traceroute is one where all subsequent hops show loss and/or high/inconsistent latency. A single hop showing either loss or strange latency then it returning to normal is fine. The hops after show how well that single hop is forwarding your data, which is what you need it to do, the response from a single hop how that hop is answering your traceroute, nothing more without more evidence.

Exception to this being the last hop in the trace of course. If that's your target server that might be problematic on its own and no other data points available so try pinging it directly.
