Ah, I see what you mean, yes i was fine with 36Mb/s, but it is crazy how we are now saying that 150Mb.s is slow, when it reality it is not.

As for speed being reached, a lot of people tend to use Wi-fi and then wonder why they can't get the speed are paying for.

That true as most old device are useless wifi 2.4GHz or old network card on the pc or laptop. But lucky me, I have PC System with 2.5Gbps Ethernet network card and router now on wifi 6 as my new mobile support wifi 6 as it will cope well with my current G.fast 255/33 in winter but it slower down in hot summer down to 206/30 but when FTTP come I might go for 330/50 depend on the price. If it too much and go for FTTP 160/30. I wouldn't bother get 550/75 or 1.8Gbps/110 from Openreach FTTP with crazy price.

A cable which doesn't have all four pairs connected, or is of the "crossover" variety, supports only 100Mbps ethernet. You can easily check if this is the case by looking at the network device settings and see if it has negotiated a 100M or a 1G connection.

I *think* 1Gbps can work with a cross-over cable.. Provided it's all four pairs connected.
They do, most modern switches auto detect the cables, I have different types of cables all work at 1Gbit and 2.5Gbit.

Thanks a very useful little tool.

Once I had purchased new patch cables as well, I am up and running at 150mbs.

Thanks all!
