Indeed. As noted if the text beneath the box says the magic words "ONT exists...." then one is home and dry.

I might add the caveat…..
Unless the poltroon who lived there before has decided the ONT belonged to them, and has taken it to pastures new. 😑

Sure, but that just needs OR to put a new ONT in place which doesn't require any landlord permission.

That's unless when ripping off the ONT they damaged the fibre cable so badly that a new one needs pulling through. And even then, I don't think they'd need landlord permission as they're just maintaining an existing installation, not drilling any new holes etc.

yup just a new ont needed.

yup the worst case scenario is a resplice at the csp - which is why its partly there.

Agreed .

Still hassle though, you have to explain to your CP why they cannot just switch it on, then it needs an appointment, for the fitting and updating of serial numbers etc.

Used to see a lot of ONT gone, and some plonker had then painted the wall, usually the fibre too.
