Significant Packet loss - BT Core network and Cloudflare

[link to this post]

Getting significant packet loss on certain services utilising Cloudflare (discord etc) as well as Cloudflare themselves

Connectivity from the BT core network to Cloudflare has been experiencing delays and packet loss since 12:40 today

Any ideas on how to escalate this? Plusnet are wiping its hands clean and Cloudflare doesn't respond in good time via their community

There certainly was an issue this afternoon from my Plusnet FTTP connection to Cloudflare sites but it seems OK at the moment

Still an issue for me tbh. Running MTR I can see packet loss between the BT edge node and Cloudflare.

Doesn't this site use Cloudflare? It was one of the sites playing up badly earlier but seems OK now.

Plusnet is and has been broken most the day with no update at all from them. Using a VPN works ok if you have one.

Having issues and am on Virgin Media. Lots of packet loss, issues reaching IP’s in the US. Not sure what is going on. Totally random.

Worth looking at Down Detector: https://downdetector.co.uk/

At the current time - 14:10 Sunday 23 Feb, the plots for BT, Sky, Virgin, TalkTalk, EE, Three all bear reasonable similarity. So, where is the real issue? Has someone been out with big scissors again? Certainly reports from Sweden suggest they may have.

So, where is the real issue?

Possibly a shared transit, but as Virgin is included those of us on the ISP know it is heavily regional, so the issues previously often reported in Leicester, or even the much closer Reading, don't impact us on the Surrey/Hampshire border.

and down detector can even log issues from people who have a WiFi issue at home wink
