P4 2.6 Socket 478

Is the processor i have... for no reason whatsoever, i want to know whats the fastest cpu i cant upgrade to easily.

im sure i can get a cheap processor to upgrade to and, so, also the second question is whether it will be worth it.

toms hardware used to have good graphs, but i cant find the old ones anymore?

If your just looking for a straight CPU swap rather than a motherboard/CPU/RAM upgrade then the current make/model of motherboard would be more usefull.

CPU-Z?
The fastest chip on socket 478 are
Pentium 4 HT 3.4 Northwood
Pentium 4 HT 3.4 Prescott
or the Pentium 4 EE 3.4
but you will need to check your mb support these.

Sisoft Sandra or Everest Home (free edition) should tell you the motherboard , other wise the POST screen should
