Been looking through my order history and support tickets for Corsair, Logitech and MS mice. Non of them seem to last beyond 2 years. I am in the process of returning a Logitech G203 because of erratic scroll wheel. The one previous to that was a Corsair Harpoon RGB which was replaced by a Harpoon Pro because of left click bounce (double click on one click). I am using the Pro now until the replacement G203 turns up on 3rd Jan. Before that I had a MS Comfort mouse where again the scroll wheel became erratic.
Average life of these mice is about 1 to 2 years. Is there any mice out there that will last? I have another Logitech basic mouse on my other machine which was about a tenner and that has lasted years. It's at least as old as the PC from 2008.

The MX Master series from Logitech. My last one was maybe 8 years and I had physically worn away the thumb pad - the switches still worked. My wife has one too and that is of similar age.

https://www.logitech.com/en-gb/search.html?q=MX+MAST... in graphite or light grey not sure what the "Business" variant is though. And probably cheaper elsewhere though.

I’ve got one of those, and matching keyboard. Can’t comment on longevity, but they are by far the best kit I’ve ever had (though not cheap). And they connect to 3 computers! Not quite enough for my ideal setup, but I’m not aware of equipment that provides more connections without extra hardware.

I have the Logitech lift mouse, it is a vertical mouse, over 2 years old now, works well.
Also have a Logitech MX keys mini, not so fond of it, I got it just before I got the Mac as it is suitable for both mac and pc, but I don't like the keys, I miss type a lot on it and miss the keys, I have to go really slow on it. I am thinking of getting the mechanical version, something I should have got in the first place.
But the lift mouse is amazing. I love it.

I saw that mouse looking through the Logitech mice. I have a G11 keyboard which I got for a bargain £20 in Overclockers sale. Had it years and love it although its a shame I cant get the macro keys to work on Linux, work fine in Win 11.

I have an old logitech G11, but when I got this desk it was too big for it, so was a normal keyboard, well if I wanted to keep the mouse on the same level. So i got a Corsair 10 keyless, it was okay, but it had problems, one of the reason I changed to the Logitech MX keys.
The mouse is great if you can get used to a vertical one, I got myself a cheap Anker one to see if I could get used to it and I took to it right away, The Anker one lasted for a while for the price, but got knocked off the desk once too often . i kept forgetting about it when I pushed the tray in. I make sure the Logitech is on the top .
Why I push the keyboard tray in I don't know

I could be tempted for one of those, but would prefer one with a charging dock rather than a USB-C connecter, such as used for mobile phones etc. I don't fancy having to charge the mouse daily and fear that it would soon suffer from a damaged USB-C connector.
I'm also puzzled about the difference between the MX Master 3S and the Business version. The more so since currently the MX Master 3X is £20 cheaper due to a £20 off offer. Ah, going through the specs again, the "standard" version is available in Graphite or Pale Gray whilst the Business version's colour is not listed. Strange!
Cheers!

Daily charging?! Seriously. I recharge my mouse (and keyboard) every few weeks.

Still a pain. I prefer wired option but doesn't look like that option is available for the MX.

My Lift vertical mouse has one AA battery, and it lasts for months, a good battery will last for a year or more, I have a Kodak in it at the moment, and it is 45% left and have been in there for over 4 months.

The MX last for weeks on a charge.
Even my phone lasts the best part of a week on a charge.

It’s not really a pain. Just keep a usb C cable plugged in to the computer. And connecting a usb C plug is much easier than any variant.
Wired mice went out with the ark. Good riddance.

I felt that way years back when some wireless mice were laggy and inaccurate. Logitech and their USB dongle changed that and since starting with the original MX, I will not go back to wired. Now, the MX3 has BlueTooth or Dongle interfaces and can be used on three different machines - cycle through with a single button press.

I tend to use my touchpad however, the mouse is sitting next to the laptop and powered up and BlueTooth connected. Last charge was well before Christmas and it is sitting at about 60% charge.
Heavy user - maybe one a week or two. Light user - monthly maybe. My wife's older MX2 with a well used battery goes for two weeks and it get good use.

I was simply quoting from their spec:-
" Battery
Rechargeable Li-PBattery
Rechargeable Li-Po (500 mAh) battery
Get three hours of use from a one-minute quick charge. 3Battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions.o (500 mAh) battery
Get three hours of use from a one-minute quick charge. Battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions."
Had it read something like 4-weeks typical use following an overnight charge, I would not have remarked on it. To me three hours use is just about enough for one day.
My current logitech wireless keyboard and mouse run for moths on a couple of AAAs (keyboard) and a single AA (mouse).
Cheers!

You needed to read further down the page: MX Master 3S stays powered for up to 70 days on a full charge – and gets three hours of use from a one-minute quick charge.23Battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions. Use the included USB-C charging cable to top up the power. 70 days on a full charge.

How long does your phone last on a one minute charge? Three hours is, frankly, amazing.

They state the battery capacity. How that translates into operating time is purely dependent on usage - it’s an estimate, not a specification.

I'll give you that! I must read more carefully in the future!
I would still prefer something like, "an overnight charge will give three months normal use".

Wired mice went out with the ark. Good riddance.
But not for gamers, by all accounts. I still hear people saying that wireless mice adds latency and they are not reliable.
I presume they are better now. For games on the PC I have an old Logitech G502 Wired mouse, not so much that it is wired, but because it is a conventional mouse. If I use my lift mouse for games, when I press the button in the heat of the moment, I move the mouse as well
I am not a good games player, I just enjoy the ones I play

As I said above, my lift mouse uses a normal battery, stick a battery, and it last for over 6 months if not longer if you remember to turn the mouse off
you can always use a rechargeable battery, but not sure how well that will work, I normally find them only work well on devices that are high drainage
