Laptop base

I'm after a firm laptop base on which I can rest my Acer Aspire during use on my lap. At the moment it rests on my lap and as a result has it's cooling fan exhaust port covered which doesn't do the system much good over time.

I vaguely remember seeing a few metal bases in the PC mags but can't seem to track any down on the web. Can anyone please point me in the right direction or even give me a few recommendations?

I've never used this product but I saw it demonstrated on QVC a few weeks ago. It looked pretty solid:

It doesnt have a lip around the edge unlike most bean bag trays.
