Help With New Case Fan

[link to this post]

My PC's case fan is making a noise like a road drill. Time to get a new one.

Trouble is....I'm not sure what to replace it with. The existing one says Chieftec D12SM-12 on it. 120mm, I presume. I think it is the 'ultra quiet' model ( lol !....not any more ! ). It was a standard part of my Mesh computer.

I can't find any indication that Chieftec still make this model. So the question is......can I simply replace with any 120mm fan ? I presume the locations for the 4 screws that hold it in place are all standard size and any 120mmm fan will fit.

It's probably a silly assumption to make, but I also assume all case fans of the same size are 12v......as I've seen a lot of examples but they don't say what the voltage is.

Agreed, but check what sort of connector the existing one uses before you buy.
I seem to remember that Maplin do some which have 2 types of connection possibility.
