New Year price drops

[link to this post]

What do you think guys, any chance we might see any of the online retailers (Ebuyer / DABS etc) have decent sale prices on things like LCDs / monitors / graphics cards etc etc

Is it worth holding out, if I'm considering buying these sorts of things ?

Thanks
Mike

From past experience the prices drop prior to xmas and increase afterwards.
Probably best buying about now I reckon

And now their buy & collect service (buy at internet prices, collect in store) is available to smaller items (e.g. USB flash memory), it's even easier to get a bargain.

Of course, that doesn't detract from the fact most of their prices are an absolute rip off.

I've got no idea where high street stores get their prices from. Here are a few of my recent purchases:

That's the Syncmaster 205BW? I'm considering getting that, or the rather more expensive Syncmaster 21" 215TW which better contrast other inputs such as component, composite and svideo.

What's the display like on the 205BW?

I've compared a few things between Scan, Maplin, and PC World...

USB Cable A (Male) To A (Male) 2M
Scan: 56p
Maplin:

Octophobia.
