RAM seems to have become a commodity product. At present, demand is rising again and supply is low and thus prices are high. Another few months and prices will fall like a stone for DDR3 RAM, but expect DDR2 to stay expensive and only rise in price further. Manufacturers, who have cut back because of the recession, will not want to start making DD2 again en masse when DDR3 is the new standard. By the end of next year expect DDR3 RAM to be dirt cheap per GB compared to DDR2. Expect old DDR RAM, which is expensive already, to be extortionate in price by then.
