SSD's

[link to this post]

I have been waiting to load the ghost image I have taken of windows 7 from a fresh install on my pc onto a SSD when the price's come down to improve boot up times and performance, the question is when will these prices come down?!

I have been waiting for a few months now and in actual fact for the SSD I am interested in the prices appear to have gone up, I require a 64GB to allow me for the operating system and a number of other programs to be installed on it also it has to support TRIM.

Oh well guess I'll keep waiting, I was hoping that the price would come under £100-120 but that seems a long way off yet!

About a week after you grit your teeth and buy one at current prices frown

lol I think that's it, prices will stay high until consumer demand for them comes down and technology allows bigger and better sizes, I would of thought if everyone doesn't buy them, then prices should come down? But thats a united effort that you just know will never happen.

I can remember the raptor 10,000 rpm I currently have was £150, surprisingly enough they are still pretty expensive!

I bit the bullet some time back and put a 60GB unit in my laptop (it takes 2 drives, so the old drive is used for storage).. Performance is worth every penny, IMO!! Booting into Windows 7 (Ultimate 64bit) takes 25 seconds (including 7 seconds for the post) to the login screen and about 35 - 40 seconds to reboot..
