Is there a how to remove bios password for old think pad ?
There is some youtube for toshiba using a shorted connector but no ibm

Help!!!!!

According to this PDF, you are SOL:

"If the SVP has been forgotten and cannot be made available to the servicer, there is no service procedure to reset the password. The systemboard must be replaced for a scheduled fee." - where SVP is the supervisor password and is the one set for changing the BIOS.. This is on page 34/158 or page 28 in the PDF itself.

Of course removing the BIOS battery for 30 minutes or so might do it, if you can get to it..

There are 3 passwords for thinkpads. Most likely your problem is with the Power On Password. Have a look at this thread to see if it helps.

If it's the hard disk password or the supervisor password things are more difficult. If you are very good at soldering and are willing to take a chance then you can follow the procedure linked to by BatBoy - otherwise it's a job for a professional.

Taken off keyboard & lifted surround no chip found yet .

The bad news it has 14 pins to small for me to solder !

Will think on it any ideas ?

It is possible to solder to that chip with a needle point soldering iron. Just be sure to inspect your work with a magnifying glass afterwards.
