USB Plugs

Do the contacts on USB sockets/plugs oxidise? Just had my mouse have a fit, a MS Comfort mouse disconnected itself from a hub. Then my Logitech G11 did the same but thats connected directly to the rear ports of an MSI P35 motherboard. Replugged them and sprayed them with contact cleaner and seem ok now. Any clues?

Like any other, I suppose that they can but I've not seen it on home computers. Maybe your USB subsystem got confused and the re-plugging fixed it?
Does USBDeview show any "stuck" devices?

Indeed was just browsing Google maps and the mouse stopped responding. Blue detector light was on but hubs green light was off and got the ding dong as if it was unplugged then keyboard started playing up. Weird.

Got any other hubs to try? Or any other power supplies you can use with this hub (assuming it's a powered one)?

Good point. It is an old hub and PSUs dont last for ever. Unfortunately no spare hubs, might have to replace it. Any good quality hubs you can recommend? This ones a Trust cheapy.

Ordered a Belkin 4 Port Powered hub so will replace the Trust one and keep as spare.
