What do you good folks think about this laptop that I want to buy?

As you can obtain a I3-350 from Medion and others for similar cash, I would not purchase this laptop. The I3 has superior performance benefits over the B800.

Go through the specs line by line.

I will always recommend Dell - just from 20 years experience of them compared with others including Toshiba.

The Fujitsu can have teh support upgraded to 2 years for £110 or 3 years at £180. With Dell an upgrade to OnSite 3 year is just £100 (including 'software and good 'phone support). That suggests a difference in build quality and will Dell you can also add Accidental Damage for te first year (some suggest household insurance but with an excess you may get nothing).

Also, phoning Dell towards the end of the month or near to a Deal expiry can also result in some additional negotiated discount or free upgrade to one component.

Toshibas laptops are pretty good, I would buy one of them rather than a Dell to be honest. Medions are ok as well.

Fujitsu seimans, i would not recommend unless they have got better over the last few years.

I would go for Toshiba myself. 3 year Warranty available with Toshiba for £57

I agree with you entirely Zyborg47 Dell are so under spec and expensive. But to pay extra fees aka £100-180 for support for any make of approx £340 laptop is in my opinion a total and utter waste of funds.
I do like Toshiba and my office has 4 Medion high spec laptops 2 of which are i3 one i5 and an i7 processor and I am very pleased with the quality, service and support and the pricing is excellent.
But check the specs carefully whatever make or model you buy there is so much out of date spec laptops on the market at inflated prices so be careful and prudent.

Almost every Toshiba we have had has given problems from day 1.

I know plenty of people who got Toshibas, some old, some new and they all work fine, never had one myself mind you.

As for Medion, again I know a few people who got a medion and have had no problems with them apart from one of my brothers and that is because he kicked it. someone left it on the floor and he did not see it there.

Depends on what you want the machine for and how much you want to pay. If i was going for another laptop which i am not because I don't like them that much, I would either go for another Asus or a toshiba.
