i3 Temp

My i3 is running at 65c now, the kids have been playing games on it for a couple of hours, is this normal, just got a message pop up from speed fan saying it is over 70c now, getting slightly worried about this?.

Is this a laptop or desktop?

What model of the i3 and those temps under load or idle?

It is on a desktop, the cpu is a i3 2120, idle temps seem to be around 40c right now, but as soon as i run prime95 they jump to around 90c.

40 is about normal 90 under load isnt.. is it near a heat source or is the fans clogged up with dust

Brand new fan for the cpu, and not near a heat source, what is a normal load temp for this cpu?.

Did you remove the protective foil when you fitted the heatsink?

Are these temps at stock speeds and voltage settings?

There's a big difference between case temperature and core temperature, which often causes confusion. But 90 C is too high for either; are you sure that you fitted the heatsink correctly?

I don't think there was anything on the bottom of the heatsink, only the thermal paste
