Recommendations for a wireless LAN card for PC

When my son moves soon he'll need to connect to his NTL/Virgin box via wireless, currently it's via Ethernet cable. Thus he'll need to add a wireless LAN card to desktop PC. There'll be a wall between PC and NTL/Virgin box. There are a couple of spare PCI slots.

Any recommendations for a good solid reliable card?

A drill, drill bit, two RJ45 sockets and a short length of Cat5e ...

You can also use a Wireless Acces point. Wired from PC to access point, wireless from access point to wireless netword.

Commonly available from £20 or so.

Don't need to open the PC case.

Haha! I've done this, and used the white wall grommets that Sky uses to neaten up the holes (only reason the wife would let me do it).

He needs to remind her that the Television aerial feed is drilled through walls - and without that she could not watch: East Enders, Casualty, Coronation Street, CrossRoads, Emmerdale, Home and Away, X factor, Britain's Wives have no talent &c AND that without the holes drilled to put a phone into the house she could not spend hours gossiping to her mum, sisters, friends &c

Why do women have this strange aversion to putting a small cable in place to make everything easier? And why do so many men just accept it?

Would not even need those if the sockets covered the holes.

Why not use a product from some like Devolo, no holes to drill and no wireless needed just two plugs and two patch cables. Note its what I use and there are other makes....
