24 Pin connection problems

Hi,

I ordered a new system from Scan that came today, and upon building it noticed the 24 pin motherboard connection from the PSU would just not go in properly. The PSU is a decent Corsair one so it's not a cheap build, but it leaves a slight gap between the socket on the board and the 24pin plug.

I then reached the cable over into my other PC plugged the 24 pin in and the other 4 pin connection, powered on fine. However with this new motherboard it does not like going in what so ever, it's an MSI 970A-G43. Is it unheard of to encounter this problem? Because I got advised if I want to return it, and it ends up being fine they will charge me the courier collection fee and the testing fee of £35.

Is it possible down to pin length? Pins too long for the sockets?

If the PSU and motherboard came from Scan then send both back so they can try it. Eliminates blame then.

I don't have a pic sorry MHC. I will do what you said though John as it's certainly one of them!

Silly question, but I take it you are absolutely sure the plug is the right way round?

Indeed it was I haven't gone insane . Clip facing the clip .
