Epson PX810FW -- Printer error read documentation.

Hi,

Has anyone got one of these printers? I have a problem as subject line, when I raise the top and look to the left where the paper drive is I can see a red light (LED). If someone can check their printer to see if this is usual I would be grateful.

I am wondering if a optical sensor has come off it's mount.

Hi Alan.
I have the PX 810FW and if you open the top cover you can see red lights to the left of the carriage, so the lights appear to be normal.

Singular vs. Plural?

Thanks to both tonym and XRaySpeX -- it appears the red led shining is usual. I later discovered a problem in the auto-document feed, 2 plastic gears had split on the stepper motor.

Both repaired, but bad luck continued it still periodically flashes internal problem. The black head is also partly blocked and efforts to clean resulted in the dreaded "Ink pads reaching end of life"

I know this can be reset and pads cleaned, but I think it's a lost cause, it's going in the bin. My experience of this printer has not been a good one!
