Communication from scanner to PC

[link to this post]

I've had a Canon Pixma MG610 for a few years and it's really good. I now have a question. I WAS able to scan locally on the Pixma, then send the scanned image wirelessly to the PC. Although I haven't knowingly changed anything, this facility isn't now offered as an option on the Pixma's scan menu.
The scan facility works very well from the PC, but not the other way.
I am using Windows 7 64bit and Sky Broadband.
Any ideas, please?

Silly question but is the scanner still on the network ?
More importantly does the scanner think its on the network?

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, the scanner knows it's on a network and I can scan wirelessly from my laptop in another room.
It's just that I used to be able to scan on the scanner and send it to my PC where it arrived in a default place called "My Image Garden".
But now the scanner (Canon Pixma MG6150) will not do this. It just gives me the option to download the scan to USB device.

If it works to the laptop (If i have understood correctly) then the issue must be on the PC

OP is saying not working in reverse direction. Laptop or PC -> Scanner OK but Scanner -> PC not.

In that case the app on the desktop must have failed or been disabled or blocked by something like a firewall. The reason the scanning will not work is that the scanner can't find the destination
