I want to buy a windows laptop for my student/ son. It will have to be fast and light to carry around. Cost is not an issue. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Seems pretty slick to me. Possible downside in your sons case is the relatively small storage (128GB drive). It's very light and slim, partly due to there being no DVD Rewriter (use a cheap USB one if needed).
You are right, the storage would be a problem. I have noticed that Microsoft are about to release a Surface Pro 4, which may have the new Windows 10 installed.
