Bluetooth disappeared from Windows

New pc build a couple of months ago (by Cyberpower) with a Gigabyte Z97 motherboard, Windows 8.2

A couple of weeks ago the bluetooth stopped working and I found that the option had completely disappeared from the devices menu. I've now upgraded to Windows 10 and had hoped it would have reappeared, but no luck. The tech support line is weekdays only and I'm never home early enough to catch them. Googling brings a myriad of weird and wonderful fixes, so I'm not keen on gambling. I suspect a hardware fault to be honest.

Yep would suspect a hardware fault. Try re-seating it, etc.

I assume its integral on the motherboard, if so have you checked it's still enabled in the bios?
If you have access to a USB Bluetooth dongle, does that get detected and installed OK?
If so, then it's probably a hardware fault as you say.

I've only ever had problems with Bluetooth on my laptop (two iphones and an ipad work perfectly) and have now found that I can get it running again by deleting all Bluetooth devices in Windows Device Manager and then re-booting when Bluetooth is detected again and re-installed.

If you click the up arrow in the bottom right hand corner of your W10 screen to display hidden icons, do you see a Bluetooth icon?

If not I would start looking for Gigabyte Bluetooth deriver software.

I have a little Belkin USB Bluetooth device that works with W10 on my desktop computer.
