virtulization problem

Hi, on a new windows 10 home machine. Virtualization in task manager says disabled. Does Windows 10 home support it? or is it disabled in bios? PC has a I7 6700k motherboard i forget but a average asus one.

Windows 10 home supports virtualization, using a third-party application such as VirtualBox or VMWare, as long as you turn it on in the BIOS. Hyper-V is not supported on Home editions.

So if i turn it on in bios it will show in task manager as enabled and i can use 3rd party virtualization software?
Just can't use hyper-v which I'm guessing is Microsoft or Intel version?

As you say, the way ahead is to turn on all the virtualisation features in your BIOS, then install a third party virtualisation solution. I'm rather partial to VirtualBox.

If you want Hyper-V, which is Microsoft's virtualisation solution, you will need to upgrade to Windows 10 Professional via the Windows Store.

i use virtual box and i have got a pro version of Windows 8, so could use MS Hyper-V, but I find virtual box is better.

Ok another question. I was only asking this because task manager was telling me it was off which i ain't seen before. But maybe this should have been the question,
Since this PC is purely a Gaming and entertainment PC and is working perfectly right now. Do i really need to enable it?
I have a 4th gen i5 PC with windows 7 pro that can do virtualization. The I5 is more my office/work PC. Like i said do i need virtualization enabled on a PC that is just going to be playing modern games.. possibly virtual reality in the future hence why i got a 6700k.

Would any games ever need it?

Why do you need virtualization?

Not sure i do on the PC in question that is why i kind of changed my question. It probably should have been "do i need virtualization on this PC?"
Would a game ever need it? that is the main thing this PC will be doing.
