Fair enough, Macium reflect is free by the way, the free version will clone and image, pretty good as well, Just for future reference.

Drives posted today 13/9/16.
Address as given in first email to Return to, is different to another address given in second email received the same day.!!!!!!!!!
Although they give a Freepost address, I paid myself for a Signed for Validation.
Now wheels are in motion lets see what transpires.
Sandisk assures me I will find their SSD drives suitable for cloning.
I was aware Macium was free. but did not want to possibly mess up the Crucial drives (in my ignorance no doubt.

Fair enough, hope it all goes well.

Thankfully I only had trouble with one drive and had to send it back and that was a 120GB Seagate drive, it got sent back 3 times and replaced and yet I still could not get it to work correctly, this was a spinny drive, so I gave it to a friend and they put it int heir computer and it worked fine.
Never been a fan of seagate to be honest, even if I do have three of their drives.

SSd changes things a bit, hopefully bring better reliability.

Might I suggest that the problems you are having have been caused by the extremely BAD Instructions/Information that you have had from both Crucial & Acronis!!

I was trying to replace an existing SSD with a larger Drive (the whole purpose of the reason for replacing).

Initially, it appeared to ONLY want to re-create an identically sized partition & leaving the rest redundant (or possibly configured as an additional Drive).

I eventually succeeded, but it was more by a combination of Trial & Error (with a lot of luck, rather than judgement, thrown in)!!

ps:- I do note that you are eventually going for a refund - I really don't blame you!!

Conclusion:
Received the second refund from Crucial to day 24th Sept.
Although the two drives were enclosed in the same return envelope the dates of the refunds
were different namely:
1st received from PayPal on 19th Sept.
2nd received from PayPal on 24th Sept.
Must say Crucial/Micron never failed to reply to any of my emails.
As mentioned in another post, I have respect for them.
