Mice.

[link to this post]

I have gone through many mice over the years and am currently trying the Logitech G203. It's not bad had a couple of scroll wheel stutters but seems ok despite getting soaked when my roof got blown off - but that's another story. I have another G203 in its box replaced by insurance but using the water damaged one until it conks out.

Also have a Corsair Harpoon Pro which was a warranty replacement as the Left button started playing up on the original. I find this also has a bit of a switch bounce so swapped to the Logitech.

Been looking at the Asus mouse range and as Asus has a good reputation with hardware - especially their TUF range using Military grade components. Was wondering if anyone has used an Asus mouse and how they found it and longevity?

I prefer teh Logitech MX series.

My old MX Performance - afrter serveal years I actually wore out teh thumb rest/button! I currently have an MX Master 3S on my desk with the Bluetooth adapter in the dock/replicator so any PC can be plugged in. When travelling I now have teh latest MX Master4 with Bluetooh linked to my PC. IO could if needed use two mice at teh same time.

They are not cheap but do last.

I have as Logitech g502 for games on the PC, it is pretty old now, but still going well, I also used as my normal mouse until I decided to go for a vertical mouse. So it have done pretty well

I went for a cheap Anker vertical just to see if i could cope with it, lasted for about 2 years, not bad for a £20 mouse. My main mouse now is a Logitech lift vertical mouse, had it, must be over three years. I could not go back to a normal mouse for standard use.

I went for the logtech MX verical after trying an anker wired vertical for a while. The vertical does seem to help me with RSI (for years I used the a logitech track ball but in the end my thumb was just not being accurate enough). I tend to stick mostly with Logitech mice - they just seem to have what I want and work well using wireless/bluetooth.

yup i have a cider damaged mx3 - i did try and repair it, i lost the guesture button and eventally the "click button" on the scroll wheel. I had it since 2019 so it has lasted even with the smoking battery incident ......... yes i had a smoking mouse! 😂

My tech relationship with my mx3 is interesting to say the least.

I now have the mx4 which i do love. Its heavier but also it feels cheap.

It helps me as well.

I tried a trackball years ago, could not get on with it, I doubt i could use one now anyway due to my thumb. Years of using an electric pallet truck have mucked the joints up on my thumb.

Rapide contact cleaner is awfully good for intermittent scroll wheel issues. laugh

+1 from me too. Every MX mouse I've ever bought it still going strong.

Bought on of the original MX Masters many years ago, it still works (on the original rechargeable battery) and still gets occasional use on a tertiary PC.

I've got three other MX mice of various ages, all still working well.

Their Options+ software however for me was a disaster (especially on the Mac). I ended up switching to BetterMouse on the Mac instead.

(my main problem was it forgetting that keystrokes were bound to buttons and then often not capturing the keyboard properly in the dialog where you set that, making it impossible for to rebind cmd+w, as when I did it just closed the dialog)
