Wavlink Vs Sabrent

[link to this post]

I have the opportunity to purchase some new opened box Sabrent EC-HD2B hard drive docks. I already have a couple of Wavlink ST334 docks. Had the odd dropout with large files with the Wavlink so wanted to give the Sabrent a try.

Both have ASMedia chipsets but AI says the user reviews are more favourable to the Sabrent w.r.t. build quality and longevity. I can always sell on the Wavlink if the Sabrent turns out to be more reliable or keep as spares.

Opinions?

I have a few Sabrent NVMe enclosures for SSD - definitely good quality and no problems.

Jmicron chipsets are the ones you have to avoid, especially for large transfers. I've seen failure on 30gb to 60gb transfers .

So two Sabrent EC-HD2B docks arrived today and Linux says both ASMedia. Been testing large files in Windows and no problems so far. smile
