AN ISSUE WITH A *.PDF EMBEDDED SIGNATURE

[link to this post]

I normally use Foxit PDF reader to apply a stored signature to a *.pdf when required.

I have now been told that the stored "electronic" signature will not be accepted, and reqs a normal hand applied signature.

In order to do this the *.pdf has to be downloaded, then printed, then scanned, and then returned.

A bit of a long winded way of achieving what is required.

I am looking for a few ideas of of how this may be achieved, without all the extra work.
Thanks....

Depends whom it is for. My inclination would be to say 'no printer available', and insist on a hard copy to sign. Then send it back by fax.

If only, the perfect reponse, but..... no way, they did mention "if no printer... go to a "Print Shop" etc.

I've read through the OP a few times and can't see how the required result isn't covered by what I always do i.e. I have a scanned image of my signature which I paste into the relevant place in the form and then I print the result to a .pdf. I've done this a number of times for fairly important documents without any problems.

I agree with @longedge, if you add your signature image to a PDF then you must re-print it to create a new PDF with your signature, this way you are effectively "flattening" your signature to the PDF which in turn is treated like a scanned document.

A very good idea, but they will not send me a hard copy.

I have no requirement for a printer.

Looks like I will have to comply, with their requirements, for a signed copy.

This is what I would do:

Download the PDF you need to sign e.g. PDF001.
Add your Signature image to that PDF.
Print to PDF, e.g. PDF001 becomes PDF002 with flattened signature.

No printer or scanner required.
