New Apartment Building?

So recently a new apartment building has been made available to the public and currently the apartments have access to the FTTC network locally, however I'm wondering if Hyperoptic or any of its competitors may be interested in installing a full fibre service there.

Anyone had any experience of raising interest and getting such a thing done or would it be a waste of time?

If no residents yet, then very much a case of a partnership with the developer.

if you have FTTC and that is high speed and choice of significant number of service why bother with something else - cant seen the value of it

Because 1Gb/1Gb symmetrical is available.

A major problem could be the likely take up. Current patterns see a large proportion of those connecting via FTTC opting for an up to 40 Mbps connection even where they could expect to see speeds in the 70s. I suspect few residents would want to spend the additional sum needed for a 1 Gbps service although they might want to step up in future.

There starting to move people in now I believe, I may be one of them judging how viewings go next week, I think 'll get in touch with the developers and see if there ok with it and then maybe see if I can get residents on board.

So whats the FTTC Speed in the Block how far from the cab are you

Which commercial operations are selling 1Gb symmetrical for £25 a month? Genuine question not being sassy.

I'm only aware of one community-based provider, not purely commercial, that relies on volunteer manpower quite heavily and isn't going to be installing anything in apartment buildings any time soon.

Couldn't say of line length but know that "currently" the BTW checkers saying between round 60-80 for FTTC...

Obviously I've no problem with that but if there was a possibility of being able to a faster than 18meg upload speed I would be working towards it.

PS, I think the NGA is only 96 line capable and may fill up pretty quickly once were connected...
