Ping Problems

[link to this post]

For those having problems and who do not use the IDNetters forums, Simon has posted a message here which may well be of interest.

Read that Bill and a chat with Simon confirmed IDNet had done something making my connection perfect again. About 2 or 3 days ago rerouting took place and improved pings are the result. Happy again as I am killing at max efficiency.

Interesting as mine have got significantly worse, I used to get typically around 13mSec to idnet.net, now it's 25-30mSec. Odd.

I'm not bothered as I don't do gaming, but interesting.... Next time I talk to Simon I'll ask him what he did

Chat by all means but please don`t get him to undo the beneficial changes as I need all the speed I can get to keep the Germans down.

No need to worry- nothing I do is affected by ping times (afaik) so I don't really care what they are.

I'm just curious...

I'm a bit worried about all these ping problems. Everyone is moaning about them but they are completely ignoring the other bit, namely pong. Where has it gone, there can't be a ping without a pong. It's not natural.
