No web space or newsfeeds, and no shaping/throttling either.

Just a reliable ISP with excellent CS.

Oh yes, and as many free email boxes as you can eat (of the form <yourchoice>@idnetfreemail.co.uk)

Sounds good. I'm also a nildram customer thinking of moving due to the recent goings on, although I'm not a high user (5gb a month in total). Reading through the comments here this isp sounds good, what are the pings like in games?

A few people have had problems with unstable pings, but I think most find it to be good:

C:\WINDOWS>ping www.jolt.co.uk

Pinging www.jolt.co.uk [82.133.85.65] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 82.133.85.65: bytes=32 time=15ms TTL=56
Reply from 82.133.85.65: bytes=32 time=14ms TTL=56
Reply from 82.133.85.65: bytes=32 time=14ms TTL=56

Ping statistics for 82.133.85.65:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 14ms, Maximum = 16ms, Average = 14ms

If you want a specific url pinged, give a shout...

[hangs head in shame]

I left 2 weeks ago but I am coming back as soon as I can.

My pings suddenly went up to about 40ms from 25/30ms and I stupidly thought this was because of IDNet and by migrating I would fix it. Now, where I am my pings are 5 times that (200ms) and speeds are apalling.

So Simon, if you are reading this - leave the key under the mat ... I'm coming home

The recent ping issues made me think about asking for my MAC but after Simon explained they were looking into it i decided to wait for a while.

My pings eventually dropped and have been fine for ages , i have used the BT log in trick a couple of times and that has always worked.

I guess when we have connection problems we always blame the ISP when it may not be their fault.

I too am a Nildram customer and I'm looking for a new ISP.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a light user, but I don't take the mick either. I barely used my 50gb allowance at Nildram, but I did quite a bit of off peak downloading (which was uncapped).

I think 30gb would be enough for me, but only if the upload isn't capped. Can anyone tell me if it is or not, I'm still awaiting an official response from sales.

Nildram BB2
+Avg Sync 5920 - 6650kbps, Max(regular) http speed seen = 650k/s, max p2p speed seen = 520k/s
- 0-10db Noise Margin, frequently varying speeds, 3 - 4.5mbps mostly

Really?

I may just have found my new ISP, and from the lack of complaints in this forum (seems really quiet tbh), all must be good.

*moves IDnet to the top of the list*

I did consider Zen, who also don't cap uploads, but 20gb is too much of a stretch for me but I think I can do 30gb.
