I spoke to Tim and Miriam on Monday, now Simon has just phoned to say hello. Once recovered from my shock, I put him right on his Gaelic pronunciation and warned him of my cannibal roots. Do you think they'll still let me in tomorrow?

How can you be Gaelic if you reside in Milton Keynes? That's not right.

Well, we do have a pipe band and a Scottish country dance society. I'm sure my Irish Gaelic brothers are well represented too. Shame we don't have a GP rugby team.

I'm only here because of work, initially, and am slightly trapped following subsidence. I quite understand your pov, but I don't pretend to be from somewhere else, I am from somewhere else, just not living there at the moment (if I were, I'd have a much better ADSL connection!).

The toilet's easy, shopping less so as I'm agoraphobic. The real problem is people are wary of buying a property that has been affected by subsidence (and lenders and insurers have reservations too) even if the cause (Council-owned trees) has been removed and the repairs have made the property stronger than it was before.
