ADSL2 "connected" at 8mbps and can't log on

[link to this post]

Just been upgraded and my ADSL2MUE modem says its connected at 8mbps still. Tried rebooting it, resetting to default settings, etc.

It looks as though idnet have disabled the adslmax login or something whereas I'm still syncing to the non adsl2 equipment at the exchange??

Any ideas what might be going on?

Upgraded to ADSL2+ ?

If so, your line will have been moved from a DSLAM to an MSAN (I don't know either crazy) and there have been issues with some modem/MSAN pairings being less than totally compatible...

Have you tried asking on IDNetters?

Someone over there may have a better idea if this could be your problem.

Well apparently it looks like BT updated my connection setting but didn't actually physically change the connection over.

So, its still broken.

Grateful to James for checking this out and Simon for unblocking the clogged voicemail-box so I could get through!

But sadly BT don't seem to have done anything yet to resolve this.

It seems BT try and do as little as possible to help but as much as possible to disrupt. wink

Very true, but sadly most people think this is a normal service standard and put up with it, hence BT gets away with its poor service most of the time.
