There's a driver fix for 8 meg on a speedtouch modem. That may help. If not, get a router

Are you just losing the internet connection to IDNet, or is your modem losing sync? If the latter, then it's a BT problem, probably interference which usually gets worse at night.

Have you tried using the test socket behind the faceplate on the master socket? That disconnects all your internal wiring, so if it's OK then you need to sort out your extension wiring- probably removing the ring wire. Have a look through the Broadband Chatter forum, there are usually some threads in there about interference on phone lines, and this site might be some help (scroll down to Update on phone wiring for ADSL.)

I can't help much more than that as I never have any problem with my line, but you could also try asking over on the unofficial IDNet support forum (you'll need to register to post, but it's free).

IDNet do not advise using the Speedtouch 330 on MaxDSL ... so far as to say that when users like myself were on the old IPStream waiting to upgrade to Max, it was in the advisory notes.

Having said that, a drop to 6.7Mbit? Most of us can`t get that in the first place, think yersel lucky man

How exactly would changing ISPs solve a problem with the modem or ADSL MAX service itself?
