I've been using IDNet for around 9 months now; it's a great service, and for the most part I happily have no complaints whatsoever - fantastic uptime, stability, service at setup, etc.
However tonight I attempted to send mail in my usual way; normal mail app, no settings changes, checked the router by disco/reco, all the same error: The server response was: 5.7.1 You are not allowed to send email via this server.
Is this an unreported change to idnet's service, a glitch, or what? I was recently away from home and believe I tried to send a mail using default mail settings, which would have been rejected by idnet (since I wasn't connected via their service at the time, expected behaviour) but I don't know any way for a mailserver to ban a specific computer, since the MACaddress isn't sent. Has anyone else noticed this? Is anyone else's mail working fine? I'm sending from my own email address, a remote imap box (not the idnet webmail); since February IDnet have been accepting and sending the mail I send. What's changed?
I'll check it again tomorrow morning, and if there's nothing there or explanatory replies here then I'll contact them directly and see what's up... but I'd appreciate any suggestions in the meantime as to what I might have missed.
