Maybe in the future the will raise the cap but it depends on how much bt drop their prices.

To be honest i would rather they dropped the price than increased the cap , it wouldn\'t take much more than 30GB to attract the attentions of the 24/7 P2P hogs, we have all seen what that does to a ISP.

I was only asking the question in that other ISPs have higher caps - didnt realise you had the local shop for local people mentality - I hope you get your refund from the charm school.

I would have thought it was obvious why IDNet have lower caps than other ISPs , its to keep the leeching muppets out

Most IDNet users have come from ISPs that have been ruined by the download all you can as quick as you can types , i for one do not want to see this great ISP go down that road.

and anyway, at least we know what the caps are and where we stand, no super-vague FUP/SUPs or suchlike around here.

My posts are my opinions unless stated otherwise.

I think the price we pay is a fair price and the cap is fair also but the problem is that as time goes by and we start to do more things online it is sure to eat through that fairly quickly but the way idnet seems to run things im sure they will respond in the righ manner.

I think the original question asked is a fair one and its a concern i made when i spoke someone at idnet before i joined.

I cant say anything other than agree about what has happened to other isp's maybe the only option open at the moment is a tear pricing structure based on 30/40/50gb caps but altho its not nazi germany it would attract the hogs

What we do here is pay an extra tenner for an extra 10GB download limit. Since there's 2 pretty heavy downloaders here (me with my Linux stuff, him with his entertainment) we found it very difficult to stick to 30GB. 40 suits us fine.

If you want a higher cap - then maybe you'd be better off at one of the other ISP's you're talking about.

Moved my main account from PN to IDNet as soon as I saw that my exchange was on the Tiscali LLU List and never regretted it, but still have a PAYG Account for PN at my other house
