Do I migrate

[link to this post]

I am thinking of moving over from nildram,I am not a heavy downloader,I do like using the newsgroups,I average out about 15GB a month,I am leaving because I do not like the backdoor tactics of pipex,Nildram were a good ISP when I joined should I be thinking about coming here, can I pay by Direct Debit, how many email addresses do I get,I just need 2,if I move over will the router sort it self out or will I have to do anything,I am new to routers,I always had a internal modem, one more thing I hope I don`t jinx Idnet because where ever I go Pipex seem to follow me,so sorry in advance if I come over. The other two I am thinking about are Aquiss and Freeola.

You'll be following quite a chain of people who have migrated here if you do come. I moved over on Friday, and would thoroughly recommend it. Just be prepared for a culture shock, people answer phones, reply to emails and even phone you to check that all is well.

As to the router, you'll need to enter your new login details, but that's about it. There's also a backup 0845 number dial-up, so make sure you ask for that.

No DD payments yet, but it is coming in a few months time apparently. Also unlike Nildram, there is no spam or virus checking on the free e-mail/webmail.

But there are standing orders or cheques, if you prefer to avoid giving CCAs (and I do...).

I moved from virgin and havent regretted it at all, idnet made my move very easy and as suggested you will need to change the router login and password.

I kinda look at it as a no frills service, they dont offer things they can not provide yet what they do provide is excellent (from what i have witenessed).

Emails i belive idnet offer as many as u need with their freemail (its free lol) but if you have any queries then give customer support a call as im sure they will be only to willing to help (god bless them).

You're absolutely right. IDNet are not trying to be all singing, all dancing, what they appear to aim for is a 'core' internet service which they deliver to a high degree of excellence. You can get as many (fre)email addresses as you like, but I only ever have one with an ISP, as a backup to my 1&1 hosted email (plus Google).
