Time for an Update

[link to this post]

Isn't it time for an update from IDNet? For a company renown for good Customer Service they only seem to be putting out cryptic messages. Did anything happen last night? Some seem to be reporting better connections now. What was the problem with the maintenance, and is it likely to be something that can be repaired soon? I have not fully migrated in yet, but as my choice was between IDNet and Newnet I am worried I might have made the wrong choice

The problem is, people who are currently with or have heard good things about IDNet expect this super service 100% of the time. The reality is that in the real world, things do go wrong and problems do occur. I have to admit, I'd still rather be with IDNet during this little hiccup than with any other isp.

They've been totally upfront about the situation and have admitted that the problem is with their equipment, just bare with them, I'm sure they'll either update us on the the situation soon or have it totally fixed before you know it!

Why not go straight to the horse's mouth Capricorn ? Give the CS team a call and ask what's what, then post back in here and let us know ? Re: posts being cryptic...hmmmm not from my reading.
Simon posted that there would be some downtime while new hardware got swapped in...followed by an (admittedly uncharacteristically terse) post to say the work had been delayed.

I read from it that they were going hard at it getting the situation resolved (ie no time for marketing-speak in the posts). You're not onboard with IDNet yet and of course you won't have had a chance to 'see them in action' as it were...main reason no-one's jumping up and down like you might see on other ISP Boards is we're all pretty comfortable that whatever's needing done is in hand. I'm no apologist for poor CS - it's my prime reason for being their customer. Sure we'll see further info before too long.

Capricorn ass the update was scheduled for outside office hours i think we are lucky to get any info from customer support posted in Simon\'s free time in unofficial forums.

How many customer support staff would be bothered to do this?
