Spam

[link to this post]

The volume of spam on my .co.uk account has suddenly increased, someone has probably used my address in an unwise CC... these things happen

The IDNet spam filters are catching most of it, and I'm setting up a few new filter rules

My question is- I've got my POP3 mail clients set up to leave mail on the server for a week after reading, but is unread mail in the spam folder ever deleted regardless, or do I have to fire up webmail periodically to get rid of it manually?

Hi Bill

Using the Webmail interface you can set the system to automatically purge the quarantine every x days.
Cheers

Thanks Simon.

I actually made an error in my post- it should have said the .com account, not the .co.uk one

Is the same true there? I can't find it

The .com system automatically deletes stuff in the spam folder that is 28 days old.

Simon, is it possible to alter the spam filters on a .com address via the user portal? I can't *see* anywhere this can be done so am assuming these can only be changed by iDNet.

Use the "Customer Login" on the main page, from the menu on the left select "Existing Addresses", on the right of each address you'll see "Message Filters".

Click that and play to your heart's content
