I joined IDNET today with a line install and broadband at the same time. My exchange MRBLA is WBC enabled, but I can't have ADSL2+ yet as it will take 5 working days and IDNET haven't been able to place the order - BT's fault obviously.
When I go to my car in the car park opposite, I can see the exchange. Guess what, my router stats are immaculate
Line Mode G.DMT Line State Show Time
Latency Type Fast Line Up Time 00:06:10:50
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 1
Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 8128 Kbps 448 Kbps
Attainable Line Rate 10144 Kbps 1252 Kbps
Noise Margin 13.1 dB 28.0 dB
Line Attenuation 18.0 dB 10.5 dB
Output Power 19.8 dBm 11.6 dBm
When I do a speed test, I get 2Mb max.
Ping 26ms
Download Speed = 1.92 Mbps
Upload = 0.38 Mbps
According to IDNET support I'm on a 2 Mb profile for 10 days during the training period.
Really? Seriously? This seems totally silly and different to every other ISP I've had where the speed starts high and reduces until stable
Why am I being hobbled? My line stats suggest I will get the full 8 Meg.
I'd really appreciate a sensible explanation for this.
